Downton Abbey for the Devoted

Calling all Downton Abbey fans! Join us on Saturday, November 9 at 2 pm for "Behind the Doors of Downton Abbey" (to ensure your spot, please register). The program will feature behind-the-scenes anecdotes, hidden details and historical context.

Summer reading starts today!

Adults! Teens! Kids! Stop by the Dundee Library or Randall Oaks Branch to sign up for this year's summer reading program Have Book - Will Travel, which runs through Saturday, July 13.

Adults

Sign up at the Information Desk or Randall Oaks Branch Library. Read four books between now and Saturday, July 13 to be entered into the grand prize drawing for a $100 Target gift card. We will also have additional prize drawings at the end of summer reading for a variety of Book Bundles grouped by genre, some including autographed copies. Plus, fill out Recommended Read entries to be entered into weekly drawings for $10 Target gift cards.

Teens
Sign up at the Information Desk or Randall Oaks Branch. Grades 6-8 are required to read 720 minutes (12 hours) and grades 9-12 are required to read 1200 minutes (20 hours) to earn a paperback book. At the halfway mark, teens earn a halfway prize. Teens may also fill out Recommended Read entries to be entered into weekly gift card drawings for $10 Target gift cards. Children
Sign up in the Children's Department or at Randall Oaks. Earn prizes and tickets for the drawings by doing your weekly reading, visiting the library, having or getting a library card, attending programs, and more. When you finish reading the number of minutes for your age group, you earn a free book. Visit the Children's page to see all the fun programs we have scheduled for the summer.

The Young & The Restless: Pizza Summit!!

Tuesday, March 22, the Dundee Library's 20s and 30s group will meet for a gloriously indulgent celebration of pizza. We will sample different types of pizza - all of it delicious - from various local pizzerias. Come prepared to sample these succulent slices and share your thoughts on that most wonderful of all foods. Adult Summer Reading

Sign-up for the Adult Summer Reading Program starts today at the Information Desk. Our theme is The Art of Reading, and you will find several book displays around the library featuring books with characters who are musicians, poets, artists, dancers, or writers.

When you sign up you will receive a reading log and a colorful Dundee Library pen. Then, all you need to do is read, listen, or download five books before August 7th. If you want to read more than five books, then return your first reading log and pick up another one. Read as much as you want! Each reading log is an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing for a Kodak Easyshare digital camera. We also have a second Grand Prize Drawing for anyone who submits any Reader/Movie Reviews. All you have to do is write your opinion about a book you've read on the sheet. Or, if you attend any of the free movie screenings at the library in June or July you can share your opinions in a Movie Review. Movies at the library in June: Up in the Air, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Bright Star. Movies in July: E.T., Dear John, and Shutter Island. Reader Reviews are available at the Information Desk, and Movie Reviews will be available at each movie screening in the Meeting Room.The Reader/Movie Review Grand Prize will be a canvas tote bag filled with prizes: a $25 gift card to Classic Cinemas, journal, poet's notebook, booklight, pen set, and $10 gift card to Michael's.
